Dr. Scott was born in Montreal, Canada. He graduated from the University of Ottawa Medical School in Ottawa, Canada in 1971 and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the same institution. He then joined the faculty of McGill University in Montreal practicing at the Jewish General Hospital before moving to Houston in 1977.
He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology [ABO] and holds Fellowships in the American College of Surgeons [FACS], the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada [FRCS(C)] and the Specialist Degree from the Province of Quebec [CSPQ].
He lectured for several years at the Houston’s Basic Science Course in Ophthalmology. He is past-president of the Houston Ophthalmological Society and has served on several committees of the Harris County Medical Society including the Fee Complaint and Membership Committees. He has also served on the Emergency Room Committee and currently serves on the Credential & Ethics Committee at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. He has been awarded the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award continuously since 1980.
Dr. Scott is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and has been named several times by “Texas Monthly” as a “Super Docs” as well as by “Inside Houston” as one of Houston’s “Top Docs”.
